Name of Person Served: Officer Taylor Novak
Reason for Suit: 4th and 6th Amendment Violation
On July 6th Officer Elliott Bowman had Celeste Connor downed and detained at the Vinewood sign. He then had her sent to Pillbox in handcuffs and proceeded to leave her there unattended for somewhere between 30-60 minutes, also seizing her lockpicks and screwdriver, until SAMS and Deputy Jen Saito made direct contact over radio to LSPD and she was released. Later, officer Elliott Bowman was confronted by Ms. Connor to where he claimed that being left in that room for so long was "her punishment." We believe that Bowman outright stating that he punished her for a crime that she was not charged or convicted of while giving her no way of getting due process is a violation of her 6th Amendment right and leaving her in that room for such an extended period of time beyond necessary is a violation of her 4th amendment right.
