Jethro Halifax was wrongfully imprisoned for 16 years without probable cause. The State charged him with 3x HUT charges (Weapons Trafficking, Weapons Manufacturing, Drug Trafficking), 1x Felony, and 16x Misdemeanours, demanding $2,000,000 in fines and 20 years time served. The prosecution relied on a Redacted Witness who never appeared in court, denying the defence the right to cross-examine. Judge Jordan Steele ruled there was never probable cause, stating: “You brought me shit. There’s nothing here at all.”
During the arrest, SASP Trooper Oliver Weiner shot Halifax multiple times, admitting fault: “If you need to sue me, then sue me.”
Jethro Halifax is seeking $500,000 in damages for Wrongful Imprisonment, Medical Conditions created from Prison Diet, Malicious Prosecution, 4th Amendment Violations, Excessive Force, Lost Career Opportunities and Punitive Damages, and the request to appoint a Special Prosecutor for Prosecutorial Misconduct.
