Reason for Suit: On june 10th Mia Carter was in prison, she was sitting on the canteen roof to get away from the noise
from the other inmates. Her time in prison was almost over with only a few months left. While she was enjoying her time alone
on the roof, Prison Officer Brock Lamhertz decided to join her. He struck up a conversation and asked her what she was in for, after
she answered he decided to antagonize her, pulling out weapons which he knew she didnt like to make her scared and angry. She
asked him multiple times to stop, He then decided that she was not allowed on the roof and tackled and tased her off the roof.
He then put her in cuffs. She asked if he could let her go as her time was up, he said no, and that he was going to lock her
up in a cell for 20 months as punishment. She asked for a lawyer and was denied because he wasnt charging her with anything.
He then put her in a cell and left her in there handcuffed, she asked to be uncuffed so she could eat, he denied her and stated
that she would be handcuffed while in the cells. He then left her until he was satisfied and then let her go. He also reached
into her DOC bag, asked why there was alcohol inside and seized it.
